This morning I woke up and the realisation that I'm over here alone set in and I had a bad case of homesickness, after talking to family and friends I'm feeling a lot better! Upon leaving my last location I was happy to see the roads were in a lot better condition and there was only the smallest bit of wind, perfect for driving :) I was only meant to drive for a hour and a half today but decided to continue on to lake Mytavn, an extra hour and a half down the road. This three hour drive was a very interesting one. As i started to climb more into the mountains, the scenery started to fade of into rolling hills of white powder snow, although I did get to drive through a 5km tunnel that looped underneath a mountain!
As i came closer to Lake Mytavn i stopped off at a Namafjall, a geothermal area with mud pots! This was pretty amazing to see, once again that snow can be right next to water that is 200+ degrees! As i made my way back tot he road, i noticed that there was also steam along the road!
When i arrived at my accommodation it was -11 degrees, SO FREAKING COLD! I have ended up retreating to my hotel room for the afternoon!! Im hoping the temperature improves a little bit by tomorrow and that my car hasn't fully frozen over by then!!
